However you got here, we're glad you did
You Are Not Alone.
There's no wrong way to ask, and there's no minimum amount of grief required. Tell us as much or as little as you can manage. A real person, usually Amber, reads every message and replies within two business days.
Ways we can help
What you can ask for
Financial assistance
Emergency grants toward funeral and memorial costs, rent, utilities, groceries, travel, or lost wages. Paid quickly and, where possible, directly to the vendor so you don't have to.
Community support
Meal trains, childcare help for surviving siblings, yard work, errands, or simply someone to sit with you. We coordinate volunteers so you never have to organize anything.
Resource Recommendations
Personalized recommendations to other support organizations or local counseling centers. We'll listen to what your family needs and point you toward the people and programs best suited to help.
Eligibility
- Families who have experienced the sudden, unexpected death of a child, including SUDC, SIDS, accident, or undetermined cause.
- Priority for Connecticut families; we help outside Connecticut when funds allow.
- Within 24 months of the loss for emergency financial assistance. Resource recommendations and community support have no time limit, ever.
- One financial grant per family per year, currently up to $1,000 depending on available funds.
- No proof of income required. We may ask for a receipt or invoice so we can pay a vendor directly.
If we can't help with something, we will tell you who can. We keep active relationships with the SUDC Foundation, The MISS Foundation, and Connecticut grief centers. See all resources.
